If we’re so damned busy being, well, busy, then how is it we have time to watch talking heads on cable TV who do little more that stir up trouble when it didn’t exist until they started stirring. There are times when things are nothing more than what they are.
Apple’s chief retail honcho is leaving the company in the spring. Not yesterday. Not today. Months from now. Since Apple and APPL have been on the ropes recently, and the company’s financial performance could barely reach the second best ever in corporate history, or in the history of the world, blame has to go somewhere.
Blame Angela Ahrendts instead of Tim Cook or the recession in China. After all, when things go wrong, attribution is the first item on the fix it list, right?
Angela Ahrendts Plans April Departure After Five Successful Years
That doesn’t sound like anyone getting canned, does it?
I want to thank Angela for inspiring and energizing our teams over the past five years… She has been a positive, transformative force, both for Apple’s stores and the communities they serve. We all wish her the very best as she begins a new chapter.
Ahrendts earned tens of millions in stock and bonuses during her five year reign over retail, so why do some in the Applesphere think she was fired?
Honestly, those of us in the information industry have too much free time.
The last five years have been the most stimulating, challenging and fulfilling of my career… Retail has never been stronger or better positioned to make an even greater contribution for Apple… I feel there is no better time to pass the baton to Deirdre, one of Apple’s strongest executives. I look forward to watching how this amazing team, under her leadership, will continue to change the world one person and one community at a time.
Does that sound like Ahrendts was fired? Or, eased out the door? Or, maybe she worked her ass off for five years, collected more than $100-million along the way, and decided there are better things in life than working 12 hours a day?
Quit? Or, fired? Who cares? Ignore the nattering nabobs of negativity and members of the technorati elite politburo who would politicize the event behind their cloudy crystal balls.
Sometimes a tea leaf is just a tea leaf.
