Drag and drop for iPhone. Wait! What? Doesn’t iOS already have drag and drop? Yep. But nothing quite like the oddly named but still free Anybuffer utility for iPhone and iPad which stores almost anything so you can drag and drop items almost anywhere.
There is nothing to not like about Anybuffer; from the price to the utility. Drag and drop items from within apps to Anybuffer, then drag them out to somewhere else. You can even store and organize frequently used items– text, images, photos, files, email messages, and more.
Behold. Drag and drop for iPhone and iPad.
Anybuffer works as a standalone app so you can manage collected items, but also works as an extension so you can save items to the app via the iOS Sharing Pane.
That means you can drag and drop items to Anybuffer– it works great in split window view on the new iPad and iPad Pro. Add files from Files or Photos. Paste items from the iPhone or iPad clipboard.
Yes, there’s more.
It doesn’t take long to gather and collect many items you use frequently, so Anybuffer has a way to organize items in Shelves. Create a photos shelf for photos. Or, files for files. Drop items you don’t need into the Trash. The Archive pane lets you compress items– for example, drag a folder of files and zip it up.
Anybuffer has a name that makes no sense and a price tag that makes no sense but the app itself is so good you would have expected Apple to include it as a new feature in the recently announced iOS 12 for iPhone and iPad– but they didn’t.
It’s free. It’s easy to use. Oh, and Anybuffer syncs items you save between iPhone and iPad with iCloud.
