Enter ‘hr‘. That’s right. ‘hr’. Like HR but with no caps. hr is a task timer that resides in OS X’s Menubar which makes it perfect to time tasks with a click. It’s Mac only, of course, but that’s the beauty. It helps you time the tasks you’re doing on your Mac.
Click the Menubar to create a new task timer. Create categorized tasks, too (good for projects). Then, click the timer to begin.
So, what can this clever and handy little utility do that makes it so useful and lovable at the same time?
- Record and manage timing sessions for tasks
- Place tasks into categories to manage projects
- Archive tasks and mark them finished
- Auto-detects Mac activity, pauses as needed
- Do it all from the keyboard
See? Lots to like.
hr’s price tag is nominal considering how useful it as at tracking what you do. If you’re an advanced Mac user with important task timing data requirements, hr can export date to be dropped into Excel or imported into an invoice program.
HR– sorry– hr looks like an app that Apple would make for the Mac. Nice looking, handy, elegant to use, simple but with just the right features to make it easy to use.
