The Mac’s Menubar is home to plenty of one-trick pony utilities but here’s one you’ll use to become more productive. It’s called AlarmBar and you can guess already what it does. It sits in the Menubar, lets you schedule alarms from within any app. That’s handy, of course, but also means you get a pop up notification when an alarm sounds.
What’s it good for?
I prefer to use it as a break timer, but it can be a countdown to a meeting, or a warning that something needs to get done at a specific time.
Click on AlarmBar in the Menubar and set a timer that counts down. Select the start and stop times, select the alarm sound, and you’re go to do. At the set time, a pop up displays with the alarm to let you know the gig is up.
There’s not much to it but totally worth the few bucks provided you actually use it. Remember, time is money, small is beautiful, and less is more.
