Except I’m torn between the need to stop and smell the roses, and the need to make the roses do something useful beside be beautiful. I want my cake and I want to eat it. With the Smart Wall on my Mac I can. At least, I think I can.
There isn’t much about the Mac that we can personalize. Desktop wallpaper is high on the list of personalizations because we can add any photo or image we want. Most Desktop wallpaper is static and doesn’t do much, and often is hidden behind the clutter of windows.
Smart Wall turns wallpaper into something useful, perhaps beautiful (smell the roses kind of thing), and certainly personal.
Smart Wall displays your custom photo or image along with the day’s date, the time (digital or analog), stock market information, and weather images, conditions, and forecast.
Now, you might say that the Mac’s Dashboard Widgets have similar functionality. Yes. But Smart Wall brings it to the Desktop.
The only real negative here is that, well, the Smart Wall is on the Desktop. That means whatever apps you have running with open windows will clutter the screen and obscure the wallpaper and the information.
So, take a moment now and again to check the Desktop Wallpaper (smell the roses), and be productive (time, date, stocks, weather) at the same time. The break will do you good.
