Sure, there are many dozens of iOS apps that can display PDF files, but Apple’s Preview app on the Mac tops iBooks on iPhone and iPad because it creates PDFs and gives you annotation tools.
Even better is the free Easy PDF app for the Mac. It’s not a PDF reader like Preview, but it creates PDF files with a simple drag and drop.
Here’s how Easy PDF works. Open the app. Drag and drop files onto Easy PDF. Click the Run button.
That’s pretty much it. Yes, you can create a PDF using Preview on OS X, but Easy PDF is also free and creates PDFs in batches– multiple files at a time.
Additionally, Easy PDF easily creates PDF’s from JPGs, PICT, TIFF, text, GIF, and PDF files.
Not bad for free, right? Now, can anyone explain to me why iBooks does not allow annotation on PDFs?
