Dot matrix printers are gone but printer art lives on. No, not the kind of art that simply prints an image or photo, but images or photos as text art. Talk about a blast from the past.
You can relive those wonderful days of yesteryear with an inexpensive Mac app called Sweetie. Take an image or photo and turn it into text art.
Thrilling, isn’t it?
Alright, that example is rather lame. So, take a look at this one.
Sweetie gives you a few options which can produce more interesting art from a photo. You control the text generator font, symbols, colors, background, and Sweetie handles the image edges.
Change the font and the image changes, too. Select from stencil, solid, cell average, and other options which also modify the final image.
Once you’ve created your text art masterpiece, share it on Facebook, Flickr, or Mail. Sweetie doesn’t do much but it doesn’t cost much, either.
