Among my many age defying tools (besides those I buy in a jar or tube) are games. Mental games. Brain teaser games.
The way I look at it is simple. As long as my brain is working the rest of me should follow along in good order. That means my Mac has plenty of apps that stimulate the mind. Some that get used more than others include Brain Tease II which is good for enhancing concentration skills and mental focus.
Brain Tease II is a math game with four levels of difficulty, from Easy to Very Hard. The challenge is simple. Solve as many problems as you can in 90 seconds.
If you get an answer correct, you get points. And sound.
Set the Brain Tease level to Easy, Medium, Hard, or Very Hard. Click the Start button and begin the answers to the math problems.
While you enter answers the countdown continues. High scores are captured and displayed by user name.
Brain Tease II isn’t quite as easy as it seems, especially as the clock ticks while you’re trying to solve a problem. Points are different for each difficulty level. The Very Hard level requires solving some division problems.
Your name only gets added to the high scores list if your score cracks the top 10. Brain Tease is fun because it’s not too difficult. You’re racing against yourself and the clock. And it keeps the adrenalin flowing.
This seems like a pretty good way to keep the brain from discarding cells while watching fair and balanced news.
