Every site seems to want another ID and requires another password.
Short of forking over good money for a password manager app, is there a decent way to manage your online life with a unique ID and a secure, safe, and easy to remember password? Most security breaches are caused by easy passwords. But there’s a difference between an insecure password and one that is both secure and easy to remember.
Doorman is a free Mac app that generates safe and secure passwords. And, those passwords can be easy to remember.
Here’s how it works.
Use the Doorman controls to set up the type of password you want to use. Lower Case Letters. Upper Case Letters. Or, Numbers.
There’s even an option for special characters.
Then select the standard Password Parameters, which include password length, and a speakable password. Once the settings are ready, click the Generate Password button and the password is displayed below.
The green bar indicates displays the safety value for the password (more green is better).
Generating a safe and secure password isn’t difficult and there are many Mac apps available to do just that. But generating a password that’s speakable, therefore easier to remember, is Doorman’s claim to fame.
