Even with my very best Scooby Doo impersonation, about all I can come up with is, “What The Woof?”
That may be a bit graphic, but it fits the category, which fits the first impression which doesn’t fit SCOtutor for iPad.
It’s an app for your Mac that teaches you how to use your iPad. That’s crazy, right? Who doesn’t know how to use an iPad? If you’ve got a finger then you’re pretty much done, right?
Not so fast. My first impression was negative until I actually tried SCOtutor for iPad. It’s a video tutorial that runs just over two hours, touches on more than 20 major iPad subjects, divided into 70 different topics.
Talk about comprehensive. If you have an iPad then you want SCOtutor for iPad because you’ll learn much more than you think you know. Here’s the basic list of iPad subjects.
- The iPad Controls
- Managing The Home Screen
- Personalising Your iPad
- Home Button & Gestures
- Installing Applications on Your iPad
- Searching on your iPad
- Notifications on your iPad
- Using Text and the Keyboard
- iCloud and the iPad
- Syncing with iTunes
- Airplay and Mirroring
- Safari Web Browser
- Camera and Photos
- Music, Video & iTunes Store
- PhotoBooth, Facetime and YouTube
You might think you know all about the iPad already, but I learned more in 20 minutes than I did in one full year of using the iPad.
SCOtutor for iPad uses a built-in video player which makes navigation to subjects and topics quick and easy, and it remembers where you were so you don’t lose your place.
Remember, SCOtutor for iPad is for your Mac. Use the player to jump backward or forward in 30 second increments. There’s even multiple speeds from half fast (don’t read that too quickly) to double speed.
You can also jump from chapter to chapter and the player’s window can be resized or set for full screen.
Did I mention that SCOtutor for iPad is free? Not bad, huh? When you download it from the Mac App Store you’ll need to leave your Mac and make a sandwich or a pizza. The download is over 600-megabytes.
