Remember when Dashboard Widgets were all the rage among Mac users? Most of them do one thing, do it well, and don’t cost much (as in, free).
One of my favorite, most useful Widgets is one you probably need but didn’t know it. Delivery Status is a Widget that simply tracks your package deliveries.
Simply enter your tracking number of order number (whatever number is used to track the package), and Delivery Status takes over, checking status and updating accordingly.
There’s even built-in Growl support so you get status notifications from the delivery service.
What I did before Delivery Status is probably the same as most people. I’d get an email from the shipper with the tracking number. Then, a few times every day, I’d go to the delivery service site, enter the tracking number, and check on my package’s status.
Whew. That’s a lot of work.
Delivery Status does all that automatically and gives notice through Growl notifications whenever the status changes.
The list of delivery services and shippers that Delivery Status tracks is substantial.
There’s Adobe, Amazon, Apple, DHL, FedEx, many different postal services, UPS, USPS, and many, many others.
What more could you want from a free Dashboard Widget? Delivery Status tracks your packages and gives you status updates. Simple. Effective. Free.
The bonus is the iPhone and iPad version, so no matter where you are, your package delivery status updates come to you.
