For years all I heard was that Macs were fine for creative people, but not when you needed to get real work done. That’s rubbish, of course, but it was a tag that stuck on Mac users like hubris and chutzpah sticks on Steve Ballmer (Microsoft’s CEO; may he stay there forever).
Mac users are a special breed. We choose the best computing platform, not because we’re crazy-assed creative zealots (some of us are), but because we like things to work well. Creative and orderly. Normal and geeky. That’s the Mac user of the 21st century.
My latest app to help with my OCD is a window management tool. Stay is the app that keeps Mac app windows neat and tidy.
In other words, put a window where you want it, size it to the size you want it to be, and Stay remembers all that and keeps the windows where you want.
After all, who’s in control of your Mac? You, or a bunch of wayward apps hogging the screen in a willy nilly way?
Then, even if you move app windows around all over the place, a single click to Stay in the Menubar puts them back where you wanted.
Not bad, right? Stay makes your Mac’s screen neater and more organized. This is especially useful if you suffer from OCD and screen clutter at the same time.
Stay also knows whether or not your Mac has an extra display connected, and can move app windows around accordingly.
Click to Store Windows, and click to Restore Windows to where you put them in the first place. It’s a simple and elegant app that not only reduces screen clutter, it makes you feel better and more organized.
Isn’t that worth a few bucks?
