How Your Mac And One App Can Help You Get Out Of Debt

DebtinatorIf there is one thing most of us have in common this time of year it’s probably got something to do with money. We’ll spend more than we take in.

Is there a way to beat the blues that come with too much month left over at the end of your money? Yes, Virginia, there’s an app for that. Add one simple app to your Mac, fill in the blanks so the app knows what you know– how much money comes in, and how much goes out the door.

That’s what Debtinator does. This isn’t your father’s money management app, and no competition for Intuit’s Quicken.

Quickly, clearly you get a quick look at positive or negative cash flow, and where the debt culprits live in your budget.

Get started to becoming debt free by entering your income and your recurring expenses– those expenses that somehow seem to make it to the end of the month when your money doesn’t.

Debtinator displays how quickly your debt can be dispensed with by applying an extra amount to your bills.

By looking closely at expenditures you get a quick idea of where to improve, where to cut back, and which bills are the biggest hogs.

Debtinator can even show you how to pay off a 30 year mortgage faster, and save up to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Think what it can do to your credit card bills. Of course, getting rid of debt isn’t the app’s responsibility. But with a very graphic picture of where the money went, where it’s coming from, and what you can do to reverse your fortunes, Debtinator makes it a little easier.

I agree with you that it is a great program. Or at least that it was. It hasn’t had an update in over a year, has become unstable on my computer, refuses to deduct one of my credit card payments from the correct line, and the app creator did not respond to my first request for help. I waited two weeks, have just sent a second help request. Hoping he answers, I loved the program so much when it worked that I was balancing our check books just for fun!

Well, seems my 1st email WAS lost in the holiday shuffle, the developer just sent me a very nice reply and said that he is hard at work on the next version of Debtinator, and gave me a workaround for my problem to get me by until then. I am thrilled, as it really is a great program. I had only a vague, fuzzy picture of our finances before I started using the program, and really despaired of ever digging my way out of debt. This program changed all of that, I have made good progress and can see a bright future not too far off.
